Claudia Marroquin

Senior Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Student Aid

A 2006 graduate of Bowdoin and a first-generation college student, Claudia Marroquin became the senior vice president and dean of admissions and financial aid at Bowdoin in 2021. She oversees a division of 31 team members. In her time at Bowdoin, Marroquin has overseen the expansion of recruitment efforts and has served on various working groups at Bowdoin to help support students.

Marroquin immigrated to the United States from Guatemala with her mother and two sisters, and lived in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood. She discovered Bowdoin through the One Voice College Scholars Program, which prepares and supports low-income students from Los Angeles who are seeking a college education. She majored in art history, with a minor in government and legal studies. Marroquin joined the Bowdoin admissions staff in 2010. She received a Master of Education with a concentration in higher education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2022.
