Jason Lee Morgan is a passionate advocate for educational equity. As a Compton Unified School District math and data science educator and curriculum specialist, Morgan has championed culturally relevant and engaging STEM education for 19 years. He founded the twiGs Math Equity Project to promote equitable mathematical achievement for students of color in Compton, Long Beach, and South Central LA.
Morgan pioneered Compton Unified’s first data science course in collaboration with Stanford University’s YouCubed. A member of the High School Math Pathways Champions Coalition, he also serves as a teacher mentor and education policy advisor. His research explores movement-based pedagogies for inclusive mathematics instruction.
Morgan has been named Compton Teacher of the Year, California League of High Schools Region 8 Educator of the Year, College Football Playoff Legacy Champion Educator, an Above & Beyond Outstanding Teacher of America, and American Graduate Champion. He holds a Master of Science in curriculum and instruction research and design.
