Lisa Ashe is a secondary mathematics consultant with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the past president of the Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics. Prior to joining the state department, Ashe served as a high school mathematics teacher, a school-based math instructional facilitator, and a pre-K–12 district curriculum specialist.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and a Master of Education in curriculum and supervision. Additionally, Ashe is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership. Her research interest is in the development of partnerships that propel and advance mathematical teaching and learning. She is passionate about providing opportunities for equitable access to high-quality educational experiences for all children. Ashe is also a member of the National Assessment Governing Board.
