Vanson Nguyen is a product of the community college system and a member of the mathematics faculty at College of Alameda. He has been in a department co-chair role for 10 years. He has worked collaboratively to transform his and other departments to create direct access to degree-required mathematics courses, developing support courses, and facilitating professional development for faculty. His work focuses on equity and social justice, particularly related to the mathematics classroom. His new research involves diversifying faculty in community colleges.
