Vicki Abeles is a filmmaker and attorney dedicated to using storytelling to drive social impact and foster a healthier, more engaged society. As the director and producer of Counted Out, she explores the vital role of math literacy in democracy, economic opportunity, and civic life.

Her previous films, Race to Nowhere and Beyond Measure, ignited national conversations about education reform, youth mental health, and the cultural pressures shaping students’ lives. Through grassroots screenings and advocacy campaigns, her work has reached millions, influencing policy and sparking action in communities across the country. She is also the author of the New York Times bestselling book Beyond Measure.

Committed to leveraging film for action, Abeles has produced large-scale impact initiatives, including the nationwide virtual event State of the Kids: Uniting for Youth Mental Health, and has built global alliances to empower communities and create lasting change.
