Dual-enrollment mathematics is a promising strategy for improving postsecondary outcomes. Math preparation is required across college majors, and participation in dual enrollment has been linked to higher college completion rates. Getting a leg up on math courses may be especially important in STEM fields. However, students of color and low-income students have historically been underserved by advanced math opportunities, including dual enrollment. Changing this requires intentional structures and policy strategies, including aligning the course pathways around a program of study that leads to credentials and career opportunities. This session focused specifically on how to use dual-enrollment mathematics to expand opportunities in STEM and beyond for underserved students.
