Meeting math requirements is a challenge for many students pursuing college degrees. That challenge can be even more complicated for community college students seeking to transfer to four-year universities: They need to align the courses they complete with university graduation requirements, which can differ from campus to campus and program to program. Those difficulties can be particularly great in STEM fields in which math courses are foundational. At a time when increasing value is being placed on STEM fields, this session featured community college leaders and students discussing the math-related obstacles to transfer and various approaches to addressing them.
